EWI and Lako Partner to Commercialize New Ultrasonic Package Sealing Technology
EWI and Lako Tool are pleased to announce that they have signed a licensing agreement that allows Lako to retrofit and upgrade existing vertical form-fill seal (VFFS) packaging equipment with EWI GreenSeal™ ultrasonic sealing technology.
EWI’s patented new technology can create seals as narrow as 1mm, thereby delivering the packaging industry improved package performance, lower package material usage, and significant savings opportunities. The system is designed for both rotary and reciprocal style machines, and can be easily retrofitted to existing equipment without extensive rebuilds.
“EWI GreenSeal is a breakthrough technology that addresses the packaging industry’s goals of improving seals, reducing waste, and increasing productivity,” said John Bialecki, President of Lako. “We are delighted to be able to offer this new system to our customers.”
“Lako is an ideal partner for introducing EWI GreenSeal to retrofit existing or new equipment for OEMs and CPGs,” said Henry Cialone, President and CEO of EWI. “Lako’s equipment expertise and customer-focused approach will enable packaging companies to quickly reap the benefits of this next-generation package sealing technology without having to invest in new equipment or systems.”
Lako began EWI GreenSeal retrofits in May. For more information, contact Inquiry@LakoTool.com.
