According to trend watcher Industry Week, the number of electric cars on the road is likely to triple in the next two years – from 3.7 million last year to 13 million by the end of the decade.
As the automotive industry starts to embrace vehicle electrification, there is an increasing need for smarter, more efficient joining technologies for batteries.
Tech innovator EWI has been actively working toward building a better battery for electric vehicles. In recent years, the EWI team has examined several methods to address the challenges of making batteries that are light enough, strong enough, powerful enough, and safe enough for a global fleet of cars. An article in the May edition of Welding Productivity, “Batteries Included,” looks at the advanced manufacturing technologies under consideration and the positive developments toward practical manufacturing solutions.
