Recently EWI Director of Additive Manufacturing Programs,
Mark Barfoot, was featured on Exploradio,
a program about scientific innovation produced at Kent State University’s WKSU.
The conversation was broadcast following the Additive Manufacturing Cluster
of Ohio
2019 conference held late last month near Cleveland, OH.

The program segment examined the impact of
AM as a manufacturing technology and the ways in which it is changing the way products
are made. Barfoot shared his views on how far the industry has come, and how
new AM techniques are tipping the scales toward broader adoption of use in
industrial fabrication. With metal AM, he said, “we’re moving into the meat and
potatoes of actually making production parts.”
